The Cleveland Browns was that their offense came out swinging on Saturday night, scoring 20 points in the first quarter en route to victory. Browns QB Derek Anderson played well, while the Detroit Lions rookie signal caller Matt Stafford struggled mightily as the Browns easily took a 27-10 decision in NFL preseason action. Both teams are now 1-1 in the preseason.

South Carolina Tops NC State In Defensive Struggle

The South Carolina Gamecocks offense didnt look particularly sharp in their season opening contest at North Carolina State. Of course with the way their defense was playing, they didnt have to be. The Gamecock defense completely shut down the Wolfpack offense en route to a 7-3 South Carolina victory. The win gave the Gamecocks their second straight season opening victory over North Carolina State”South Carolina won 34-0 in Columbia to start the 2008 football season.
