Pai Gow Poker, also referred to as Double handed poker is a thrilling Asian card game. It comprises of a deck of 53 cards that include a joker. The joker may be employed as a wild card only to fashion a complete straight, a flush or a straight flush, and also a royal flush. Else, the joker takes place of an ace. Apart from the banker, there can be a maximum of 6 players. One of the gamblers can be a banker; otherwise the dealer plays the role of the banker. Needless to add that if a gamer decided to be a banker, he is necessarily required to have sufficient bankroll for supporting the bets of other gamblers. If you play the game online, the casino gets a straight cut of five percent on all winnings. Usually, Pai Gow Poker is a slow game with a lot of pushes.

At the beginning of an online Pai Gow Poker game, you need to place a wager on the poker table as per the minimum pre-set amount. Once you have made your wager, you and the croupier are dealt seven cards. While your cards are faced up, the dealer’s cards are faced down. After that, you divide your 7 cards into 2 poker hands, a High Hand consisting of five cards, and a Low Hand with the balance of 2 cards. Your high hand must have a value bigger than your low hand, meaning that you shouldn’t have a pair of fives for your high hand and pair of eights in your low hand.

You have to be very careful while dividing your seven cards into two. If by default, your five hand card is lower than the 2-card hand, you lose the game! The setting of your cards is determined by what’s referred to as the “House Way” when the banker’s role is played by the house. When playing online, you can ask for aid for splitting the cards in your hand. As you can make out, the banker is at an advantage, and that explains why it’s lucrative to bear the role of a banker.

Now let us look at some of the rules of Pai Gow poker. Once the cards are dealt, if the gambler has no pair in his hand, the House Way will place the highest card in the back and the next two high cards in front. If the player has one pair, then the House Way will push the pair back, and place the next 2 highest cards in front. If the user has two pairs, the House Way pushes the two pairs backwards, and will split them if there is no ace, or one pair is 7s. It will also be split if you have a pair of jacks or higher, and six’s or better, and you have an ace, or if you have a pair of aces, and an accompanying pair.

These were just some of the rules of Pai Gow poker. Although, make sure you learn and understand all other rules if you want to be effective in the game. There are a number of tutorials to help you learn up the game, and materials such as these will give you a good introduction into the game.
