Seat selection is one of many strategies in playing poker. Its not really that important but it will give you a better chance of winning if you know where to sit on a certain table. Seat selection in poker has no connection with choosing a comfortable chair or sitting in front of a television, it refers to a players seat in relation to the position of his/her opponents.

Almost all people suggest to sit on the left side of aggressive players and on the right side of good players. This is quiet a good plan knowing that the player to your right is clearly assertive.

You can also choose to place this player to your left when you got a lot passive/loose players in your table. With this you can call pots check the first three community cards making the aggressive player to set up or raise the bet in your favor.

If a number of players called before going back to you, you can now increase your bet given that you have a good hand. This strategy is good if the table you’re in place big bets in which you can raise enough money to get the pot with no opponents challenging you or playing with only you and one player remaining with a lot of other players money on the pot.

This strategy can also be done with good players. Certain individual wanted better players on their right to get ideas on what they will do. You can also place yourself on the immediate right of better players in the hope of influencing their final verdict.

There are a lot of differentiating strategies when it comes to seat selection. You can decide to seat on the left side of better players or on their right side. You can also place yourself on an assertive players right or left depending on the way you play.
