Who’s the Best Fantasy Basketball Player?
With the basketball season about to start, many fantasy basketball leagues have begun to form. Some are in the midst of drafting as we speak. If yours is coming up, I hope you should be lucky enough to end up with a top pick. If you are, there are some great options this year.
There are great players to choose from, there’s no doubt about that. However, I see how it can be a difficult decision, and I’d like to help you out a bit. Let’s take a look at the potential contenders at number one this year.
If you’re into the idea of getting an elite point guard, you’ll have to look no further than Chris Paul. No basketball player has been more effective than Paul during the last two years.
Paul’s well rounded game gives you stats that you’ll typically get out of no other point guard. The most assists in the NBA, the most steals in the NBA, and a point guard who shoots over 50% are all really hard to pass up on.
You might appreciate the versatility of LeBron James though. Having a forward who gets you 7+ assists per game is a rare thing, and it gives you a lot of flexibility at the guard position.
LeBron can also score points as well as anyone in the league, and even shoots a number of threes. This is generally hard to get from someone at the forward position, especially considering the fact that he blocks shots too.
Others may argue that LeBron’s free throw percentage is a bit low and his turnovers too high, both of which could hurt fantasy teams. Therefore, they prefer the similar stats of Kobe Bryant. While his rebounds and assists are a bit lower, everything else is nearly the same.
While most will go with either Paul or James, it’s really a matter of personal preference. Anyone you choose at number one is sure you put some great stats up for your team. Good luck with your draft, and I hope you end up with that number one pick.
